The 1000mL Moment
A season of golden beer, heavy pours, and raising a liter to whatever brings us together.
Ahhh, here we are. Approaching what I believe to be the best time of the year for beer lovers. The season is changing and the hues of beers are changing with it. Soon enough we'll be immersed in dark, rich, voluptuous ales and lagers. But not yet! Now, we get to enjoy the in-between; golden and amber beers with subtle sweetness that softens the bitter finish.
The 1000 mL Stare
Last year Jeremy so eloquently wrote about the 1000 mL stare. That feeling when your liter makes it to the table and lands with an intimidating thud. Your wrist feels weak as you pick it up for that first gulp. You may awkwardly hold it with two hands before looking around, then feel silly doing that. There's only one way to lighten the load. You quickly realize that taking a generous gulp of your Festbier is actually a lot easier, and a lot more pleasant than you'd imagined.
A Tradition Worth Repeating
You look around, taking in the laughter of your friends and the strangers sitting close by. The energy is palpable as you enjoy the last bit of sun before the season changes yet again. Oktoberfest first began as a wedding celebration, a party so fun, they brought it back the following year. It grew to include a celebration of Bavarian agriculture and eventually became a celebration of beer, tradition, and simply gathering with people you love. So, we invite you to celebrate whatever you want to with us, and with a liter in hand (just the one hand!).
